Creative Arts

Our Creative Arts Programme Overview

At Caramel Rock, we believe that creativity, when paired with structure and support, can be transformative — especially for young people navigating complex challenges. Our Creative Arts Programme uses fashion, art, and design to re-engage students at risk of exclusion or involvement in youth violence. Designed in partnership with schools, families, and youth justice services, it’s more than education — it’s early intervention, empowerment, and opportunity.

Fashion, Art and Design to support young people in school who are at risk of exclusion, disengagement, or involvement in violence. Delivered in partnership with schools across East London, we offer a powerful mix of creative education, therapeutic mentoring, and real-world industry exposure.

With support from brands like Nike, Calvin Klein, and Tommy Hilfiger, young people develop practical skills, gain recognised qualifications, and explore positive pathways to success. This work is grounded in early intervention, giving young people the tools, confidence, and inspiration to thrive.

We work with schools, youth services, and families to identify young people who benefit from our model, which includes:

  • In-school taster sessions to engage students and encourage sign-up for the full programme

  • After-school creative sessions delivered twice a week, focused on building skills, routine and self-expression

  • A BTEC qualification in Art & Design (Fashion Pathway) for young people aged 14+, providing tangible accreditation

  • Therapeutic and youth mentoring, helping young people set goals, reflect on behaviour and build resilience.

  • Corporate mentoring, delivered in partnership with brands like Nike, ASOS, and UKFT, offering aspirational one-to-one guidance

We collaborate with secondary schools and alternative provisions across East London, including Ian Mikardo High School, Royal Docks Academy, Sarah Bonnell, Harris Academy, and more.

The programme improves attendance, reduces exclusions, and builds confidence. Many young people experience success in education for the first time — developing professional portfolios and envisioning futures in fashion, design, or creative enterprise.

Our trauma-informed approach ensures support for those with social, emotional, or behavioural challenges, including ADHD, anxiety, or previous experiences of exploitation.

Why This Matters

This programme supports children and young people aged 10–18 — offering structure, creativity, and connection at a crucial time in their development. Through consistent exposure to hands-on skills (like pattern cutting and sewing) and mentoring, young people grow in confidence and resilience.

We are proud to align this work with local community safety strategies, working in partnership with families, educators, and global brands to give young people the tools, opportunity, and belief they need to thrive.
