We are proud to announce Caramel Rock is now supported by the Asos Foundation as a part of the amazing group of charity partners they work with to develop projects that create long-lasting, important change.
Caramel Rock prides itself in being a grassroots organisation giving quality-level training and youth support opportunities to some of the most deprived communities in London making our provision impactful and inclusive with our industry network. This project will target a wide range of NEET young people and young offenders, including those with learning difficulties and disabilities, mental health difficulties, homeless young people, care leavers, teenage parents, lone parents, young carers, and work programme leavers. Young people will be recruited from the following sources: Newham RPA Youth service team, YOT (Newham Young Offending Team), Newham Intervention and Engagement Team.
In the fashion industry there are many work positions and many possibilities to explore. If you are a freelance designer, you need to distinguish yourself from the other designers.
You will think about your origins and about how you can stand out in the industry. You will explore the art form of creative pattern making, using the fabric to guide you in the shapes you are able to form.
For this, you will evaluate your practice and focus on how fabric plays an important part in framing the body. Technical skills will be explored to create design ideas through creating silhouettes draping on the bodice.
