At Caramel Rock, we are dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty by empowering disadvantaged young people, particularly women and girls from black & brown communities, through fashion, education, and mentorship. Our anti-poverty initiative uses fashion as a creative tool to help young individuals from underrepresented communities discover their potential, build confidence, and access life-changing opportunities. When women and girls have access to education, economic opportunities, and legal rights, they can break the cycle of poverty for themselves, their families, and entire communities. This project’s mission is to provide vulnerable youth and women from black & brown communities with the resources and training they need to succeed, both in their personal and professional lives. By offering fashion-focused education, we give young people and their families through this work the tools to develop practical skills, gain hands-on experience, and pursue fulfilling careers in the creative industry, in order to access employment.
Fashion is at the heart of everything we do. Through our programs, we use fashion as a vehicle for social change, helping disadvantaged young people and their families to acquire the technical skills, industry knowledge, and creativity needed to thrive in the competitive employment world. More than just vocational training, our programs foster personal growth, teaching students how to express themselves, build self-esteem, and pursue their dreams with confidence, moving away from the poverty line.
